What reading a report properly actually involves

The US National Library of Medicine sets out how to understand your lab results — what a reference range is, why “normal” differs from one laboratory to the next, and what a value outside the range does and does not mean. Worth reading on its own, and a fair measure of the work this site does for you against your own report.

Note: These guides are general education, not medical advice. Reference ranges vary by lab — always use the range printed on your own report and consult a qualified doctor.
